The COTUT, otherwise known as the "Championship of the Universe Tournament", is a nationwide RBI Tournament open to all. This tournament, held every two years in a hotel or other location in Illinois, is widely seen as being the world championship for RBI Baseball. The COTUT consistently attracts a field of 16 top-level players from around the nation.

The most recent edition was played June 26-27 in Burr Ridge, Illinois. The tournament was won by Mike Riley of Ohio, who defeated Colin Foster of Illinois in Game 7 of the Championship Series, 5-1, playing as St. Louis against Minnesota. With the victory, Riley earned $400.
