Speed is how fast a player can move on the basepaths. Every player has a speed rating, which is used whenever they are running on the bases. This rating does not carry over to the field. In RBI, Vince Coleman has the highest speed rating with a 148. Several players have the low of 118, including Bill Buckner, Tony Armas, Marc Sullivan, and the great Harry Spilman. Surprisingly, these players are slower than even pitchers, who have a speed value of 120.
