- Born Douglas Mitchell Corbett on November 4, 1952 in Sarasota, FL
- Attended the University of Florida
- Signed by the Kansas City Royals as an amateur free agent in 1974
- Played in the Big Leagues with Minnesota (1980-1982), California (1982-1986) and Baltimore (1987)
- Traded by the Minnesota Twins with Rob Wilfong to the California Angels for Tom Brunansky, Mike Walters, and $400,000 on MAy 12, 1982
- An All-Star in 1981
- Set AL rookie records with 73 appearances and 23 saves
